About Spinal Cord Injury Trial Finder
Clinical trials are an essential part of the path to bring treatments to the Spinal Cord Injury community.
Before SciTrials.org users would have to search through hundreds of thousands of trials on every medical problem. It would be hard to find trials that were relevant to them, and have to repeat this on a regular basis.
SciTrials.org provides the community with a way of finding out about spinal cord injury clinical trials that are relevant to them in the fastest way possible by enabling individuals to:
- Search via location, injury details, therapies and outcomes
- Receive email updates on new trials of interest to them
- Find answers for the most common questions about trials
- Have the clinical information distilled into everyday language
- Applying quickly and directly to the trials in the web site
In the current platform we are showing all SCI trials that are posted on clinicaltrials.gov. We are currently working on developing support to add trials from other trial registries from around the world.
Trials are not shown if:
- They are not about spinal cord injury
- They are trials that are asking for money for the research procedures or treatment
The registry sites are mainly focused on the scientific community, use language that is difficult to understand, and cover not only SCI trials, but trials for all medical conditions.
SciTrials.org is for people living with a SCI and their family members to find clinical trials that interest them with capabilities to apply for the trial. Additionally, it is for Investigators to help increase recruitment requests for their respective trials. It is also a source of reliable and easily accessible information for all clinicians in the field of SCI.
The aim is to balance the needs of both communities. Resulting in more people participating in trials, and trials having more candidates to find better matches.
We're sure you'll like using SciTrials.org more, but feel free to try both and see which you like best. If you find ClinicalTrials.gov has features you prefer, please let us know and we'll try to add them.
